Research Technician I
Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
High School Diploma/GED (or foreign equivalent or higher). One (1) year of full time experience directly related to laboratory research.
BS (or foreign equivalent or higher) in Biology or related field. Additional years of experience directly related to laboratory research.
Brief Description of Duties/Primary Purpose:
Working under general supervision, incumbent will perform a variety of routine and semi-skilled tasks to support and directly assist a research project in the lab. The incumbent should possess outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; experience successfully working independently as well as part of a team with a collaborative approach to problem solving; and strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail. The successful candidate will:
Under guidance of the Principal Investigator, perform a variety of routine and/or semi-skilled tasks to support and directly assist a research project or program, either in the laboratory or in the field.
Perform routine laboratory and data analyses.
Lab maintenance including assisting with ordering supplies and equipment to keep the lab inventory well stocked.
Assist with maintaining compliance with environmental health and safety procedures.
Participate in weekly lab meetings and write data reports.
Other duties or projects as assigned.
