Bachelor'sdegree. Full time progressive administrativeexperience. Experience with budgeting, management, federalgrants and purchasing. Proficient experience in MS Office, (Excel, Word,and PowerPoint,) web-calendars.
Additionalexperience in budgeting, management, federal grants and purchasing. Experience in higher education, academic administration, PeopleSoft andexposure to SUNY policies and procedures, and NIH programs and financial management.
Brief Description of Duties:
TheProject Staff Assistant is responsible for managing the administrative andfinancial affairs of the School of Medicine, Medical Science Training Program(MSTP).
Manageand oversee financial affairs of the Medical Science Training Program(MSTP). This includes monitoring of month expenditures, reconciliation ofaccount for the program, management of student appointment and terminations forFederal (NIH) and Dean/SOM MSTP appointees, and oversee coordination of healthinsurance coverage.
Prepareand coordinate forms and progress reports pertaining to any additional orsupplemental funding to the program.
Coordinateinterviews and schedules for prospective MSTP students in close cooperationwith SOM Admissions Office.
Setup second visits and accommodations for accepted students.
Trackand record all candidates reviewed by The Admissions Committee.
CoordinatingMSTP committee meetings.
Maintaina student information tracking system to monitor students in the MSTP.
Facilitateacademic progression of students.
Coordinatenew student orientation day, monthly student seminar series, annualgraduation dinner, annual retreat and production of student research abstractbook.
Disseminationof information to Medical School Admission Office for reports.
Liaisonwith other nation-wide MST Programs. Dissemination of information to MSTPstudents and applicants as necessary
Preparingmonthly expense reports for MSTP Director. Update annual training grant tables.Coordinate management of MSTP website - maintain and update as needed.
ProvideMSTP students information on participating graduate program seminars andmeetings that relate to the MSTP.
Performother duties as assigned
