Required Qualifications: (As Evidenced by an Attached Resume)
PhD degree (equivalent) in biology, biochemistry or related field with experience in biochemical analysis, molecular and cell biological techniques, and working experience in cell culture/sterile techniques. PhD training to include bench laboratory experience in an academic setting. Must have experience in conducting research projects in biology or cancer-related studies, and at least one first-author publication in peer-reviewed journal in biomedical field.
“Hands on” experience in stem cell biology and flow cytometry in academic. Working experience with xenograft mouse studies or genetic mouse handling including colony management and breeding.
Brief Description of Duties:
The Postdoctoral Associate will directly assist the Principal Investigator in the Department of Pharmacological Sciences for conducting experiments for sponsored research funded by NIH and Foundation Grants. The incumbent must have a high degree of integrity, organization and communication skills. The incumbent must be able to conduct research projects and design experiments independently. Supervision and on-the-job training will be provided in specific methods and techniques. The incumbent will need to participate in manuscript writing for publication and may assist in grant writing. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, design and conduct experiments related to cancer signaling and biology.
Data collection, analysis and presentation; participate in manuscript writing for publication and may assist in grant writing.
Training new personnel.
Other duties as assigned.
