Bachelor's Degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Two (2) years of full time applicable programming experience. Experience with formulating programming code in more than one (1) programming logicand interface design.Knowledge of graphic & user experience design. Experience working collaboratively with stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced Degree . Proficient in Javascript, HTML, CSS, Jquery, Python, Bash, Nodejs & PHP. Familiar with WebXR and 3D visualization using WebGL frameworks like ThreeJS and A-Frame. Experience teaching others how to use Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe After Effects, & vector graphics software, such as Inkscape. Experience in creating online games or simulations.

Brief Description of Duties :

The Multimedia Application Content Developer will create custom web based educational applications. the incumbent will apply their knowledge of graphic design, user experience design (UX), and data analysis to ensure quality, uniformity, scalability, effectiveness, and extended lifetime of the existing learning applications. The successful incumbent will have excellent customer relations skills, interpersonal skills, as well as strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Develop online education applications using current W3C standards in a variety of programming languages, including, but not limited to: JavaScript & Python. Collaborate among animators/designers and content creators to initiate brainstorming sessions and generate creative concepts that result in high quality multimedia applications that engage our users and meet W3C standards, and will be responsible for the creation of innovative, student-centric multimedia content including games, simulations or interactive activities. Create high impact graphics and compose 2D and 3D animation used for final production and design and produce multimedia for use on websites & presentations, as well as events. The person in this position will stay current on the latest trends and techniques related to online applications, including new or changes in current programming languages, and will develop applications compatible with all major browsers across MacOS, Windows, iOS and Android.In performance of all job duties, at all times be responsible for delivering optimal customer service, for protecting institutional data and privacy, and the excellent delivery of solutions and services by following divisional and University policies, procedures, and processes.

  • Support and maintain current online applications & material. The incumbent will contribute individually to existing multimedia applications that support learning and increase academic success and will help implement LTI for integration with the campus LMS gradebook. Make existing HTML5 applications fully compatible with mobile devices on iOS and Android. Investigate peer to peer communication and collaboration of Web Apps using WebRTC standards.

  • Assist students with the creation of online educational material. In this position you will share your knowledge of graphic design, user experience design (UX), and data analysis to ensure quality, uniformity, scalability, effectiveness, and extended lifetime of the existing learning applications. Ensure that student developers are documenting their code, as well as utilizing version control software during their development process and will enforce good practices All applications must be tested in the development area before moving into production. No changes may be made on a production server that have not been tested. This staff member will develop documentation for all applications that are created in the lab, both technical documentation and user guides

  • Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and departmental mission.

This is a full time appointment. FLSA Nonexempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.
