Required Qualifications: (As evidenced by an attached resume)

Bachelor's Degree equivalent or higher. In lieu of degree, four years of full time directly related experience, or a combination of higher education and experience totaling four years may be considered. Two (2) years of full time experience working on clinical trials to include experience consulting patients, submitting protocols, amendments, notices and terminations to the IRB and maintaining budgets and preparation of grants.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency with MS Office including Excel, Word and Power Point. Familiarity with accessing electronic medical records. Phlebotomy certification. Previous experience managing a budget.

Brief Description of Duties:

Clinical Research Associate I will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Assess eligibility of patients, recruit suitable patients as study participants and obtain informed consent. Conduct various screening processes of patient charts and review medical records of cardiac patients admitted to the hospital.

  • Collect and compile clinical trial data and maintain for sponsor and investigator for research use and publications and presentations. Perform study assessments and record findings on source documents as per study protocol. Prepare material for data presentations of study progress for funding agencies. Assist with the analysis of data ensuring all required components are accurately entered into the various databases.

  • Submit protocols, amendments, notices and terminations to the Institutional Review Board for review/approval. Revise protocol and consent forms as needed to comply with federal, state and IRS guidelines. Report all adverse events.

  • Educate patients and their families, ensure follow-up visits are scheduled and completed per protocol. Provide continual updates to the cardiology research staff regarding current research and available protocols.

  • Other duties as assigned.
